Balanced face mill cutter minimizes the centrifugal forces which minimize the stress on spindle bearing, minimize vibration and maximize the cutting tool's life cycle and greatly improve surface finish. Unique design feature in the flange to minimize the off-balance nature of CAT 40 taper specification. On the shoulder under the flange, a side is mill flat to compensate the weight of the metal chips lost from forming the spherical hole in the flange. This design allows the left side and right side of the holder to achieve 50-50 perfect weight distribution in its upright position, like the position inside a machine spindle. Symmetrical design in evenly weight distribution will minimize centrifugal force in high speed spinning and thus maximize the holder's ability to hold the cutting tool concentric to spindle rotation. Benefit from the 90 degree lead angle allows efficient square shoulder milling and ability to machine workpiece with weak structure or thin walls over 45 degree face mill. It uses industry standard APKT /APMT 1604 insert which has a positive 11 degree clearance angle and depth of cut of 0.551" or 14mm. The insert pockets are designed to be 19 degree positive inclined to minimize vibration and allowing fast cutting and lowering cutting noise. Coolant port on each flute to drive away cutting chip to extend insert tool life and cutting performance.
